Objective 3 : Project Opportunities
Objective 3 : Project Opportunities
Outcome Statement: I have taken on greater responsibilities at work by accepting new projects and proposing ways to expand on existing ones
self-assessment
Rating: 1/5 - Exceeds expectations in achievement of this learning goal
When I first began my internship, I was slightly overwhelmed with all of the potential projects and tasks they had prepared me for. The nature of the role and team also meant that taking on responsibilities was more decided by my capacity and willingness then being assigned new work. I made it a point to take on tasks that I thought I could reasonably do or learn to do. This largely involved my project for the blog on the company’s website and volunteering my weekend to help at our pop-up event in SoHo. By taking on these projects, I have had the opportunity to gain a better understanding of all of the various components of marketing while developing useful job skills.
Manager assessment
Rating: 1/5 - Exceeds expectations in achievement of this learning goal
We have given her many new tasks and she has been flexible and willing to learn with each new project. An example of this is performing a competitor analysis on blog posts - she also added new ideas like having text on a CTA button in English and having it show Japanese when you hover.

Some notable work experiences relating to my goal taking on new project responsibilities:
Researching blog styles for other E-commerce brands to develop a new blog style for Bokksu
Assisting with the Hello Kitty x Bokksu pop-up event at Shopify in SoHo
Expanding the TikTok Creator Marketplace program to partner with nearly 100 creators for promotional videos

Bokksu Blog
Here is a mockup I made of a potential new layout for the company’s blog based on popular competitors and my previous education on media psychology. I have also worked on optimizing blog posts themselves and incorporating item listings into these posts.

hello kitty pop-up
While I was initially not planning on volunteering for the event, it drew in nearly 2000 people, so the team ended up needing more help. I assisted in directing traffic through the Hello Kitty meet and greet and welcomed new attendees at the front.
